Ligustrum vulgare - Wild Privet
Commonly known as wild Privet, Ligustrum vulgare is a bushy, deciduous shrub growing to a maximum height of 5 metres. It has a dark, dense crown with dull green, pointed leaves. Panicles of white flowers bloom in summer and are followed by small black berries in autumn. This provides pollen for bees and a great food source for birds. Responds well to pruning and commonly used as a hedging plant. Best grown in full sun or partial shade in moist but well drained soil.
